Us is me. Wooden It Be Loverly is an evolution. Many years ago, I began to continue a family tradition in working with wood. Living a small rural community, I billed myself out as 'Compatable, Etc.' The play on words was Come Pat Able, meaning that I was easy to get along with and able to do the job. Working with wood and doing the projects that no 'real' carpenter would do gained me a reputation. The one I heard, said that I was unique in that I did what people wanted done. My motto was then, and is now, HAVE HAMMER WILL TRAVEL. The only difference being that I prefer to travel without putting the hammer to work.
Wooden It Be Loverly took over the carpentry and added puzzles and other marketable items. All of this time, I 'worked' as well at a real job. When I retired from teaching, I began to pursue other options. It was then that INTARSIA found me.
I took the basic class offered by Judy Gale Roberts and Jerry Booher in April of 2005. It seemed then, and seems now, that I had found my calling as a woodworker. I traveled back to Tennessee again in October of 2005 to learn to put wrinkles in wood. I returned recently to simply learn whatever Judy and Jerry wanted to teach me. The lion, Aslan, you see on this site is the product of that last trip.
